"This," said Adrian, "is going to be delightful" - page 228

Review: Wildthorn by Jane Eagland
Goodreads:
Seventeen-year-old Louisa Cosgrove longs to break free from her respectable life as a Victorian doctor's daughter. But her dreams become a nightmare when Louisa is sent to Wildthorn Hall: labeled a lunatic, deprived of her liberty and even her real name. As she unravels the betrayals that led to her incarceration, she realizes there are many kinds of prison. She must be honest with herself - and others - in order to be set free. And love may be the key

- I got this book as a gift from and friend and it was one of the first books I have been able to finish in a while. This is a book that every woman needs to read. We seem to take for granted the freedom us women have in today's world. Especially in America. We can become doctors, lawyers, jobs that were previously "male" jobs. We don't have to fear being locked away in an asylum and called crazy because we read books. Louisa was a strong character that I came to love and respect. She was able to stay strong and hold on in even the most hellish of situations. The bathroom scene made me sick. One other thing I liked was that we Louisa's sexuality is shown but its not made into a big deal, its just shown as who she is and that she isn't crazy because she feels this way about Eliza. This book might have gone into my top three favorite books, Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr being number one.
