Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity, Radiant Shadows

Out of all of Melissa Marr's books this one is my favorite. I really connected to Leslie, not because of what happened to her, but because of her spirit. She is am amazing lead character: Strong willed, kind, and extreamly strong.
The book takes place after Wicked Lovely from the point of views of Leslie, Ash's best friend, Niall, advisor to the Summer King, and Irial, the King of the Dark Court. Things have changed since WL and the Dark Court needs a new plan and that plan is Leslie. I loved how each character changed through out the book. Leslie from some one who had so much fear to some one who could choose to be happy, even if it means loosing something important. Like Irial who seems to be evil in the begining you find out that despite being King of the things that go bump in the night, he is loving and extreamly loyal. But it's Niall's character arch that always gets me. He changes so much from Wicked Lovely to the begining of Ink Exchange, and at the end of the book. He grows as a person finally able to be himself. I love this book, not only for the plot, but the message behind the book: That no matter how dark the tunnel is there is always a light at the end. You just have to survive.

Fragile Eternity,

Is the third book in the Melissa Marr's wicked lovely series. The tables have turned: the Summer Court is getting stronger, Winter is on the verge of vengences, and The Dark Court had a new King. The Characters from Wicked Lovely are back at the fore front. When ever I read this book I get chills because I know that something bad is going to happen, to many conflicts, to may competeing agendas. This is the book where I feel head over heals in love with Niall. As I said in the INK review, he has the most amazing character arch I have read in YA lit. He's just so bad ass, but so caring for those he loves. Seth, oh my seth. Many hated Seth after FE but I loved him, he's not as calm as we think he is in WL and I loved that.

Keenan, oh keenan, keenan, keenan.... I wanted to hit him and Ash the entire book. But it was Donia who stole the show, for me at least, she is strong, and able to let go of things she loves in order to protect her court, she's a great Queen

I won't give away to much, but Radiant Shadows was one of the sadest books in the series. One thing I love about these books are that Melissa Marr is that she doesn't surgar coat. She's realistic in her writing, and that shows in RS. I laughed and boy did I cry. Ani is an amazing character one of my favorites, and Devlin, wow, did my opinion on him change. I was happy to be back in the Dark Court seeing more of Irial (I feel in love with him in this book) and of Niall. This was a great fourth installment, I couldn't of been happier.
Can't wait for the fifth book, Darkest Mercy

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr.
If you read the post before this you'll see how I got started reading this book. This will be my third time reading this book and I love it even more. Melissa Marr know how to make faerie intiguing and fun, she uses Lore in ways that most authors can not. As I was re-reading I found myself afraid for Ash and keenan hoping that they would win. And since I'm an avid Niall fan I squeed everytime his name came up. Now off to read Ink exchange

Wicked Reads

One of my favorite series is the Wicked Lovely Series by Melissa Marr. And In honor of The Release Radiant Shadows This Tuesday I am going to tell my Wicked LOvely Journey.

I, like alot of people, was lost for books after the release of the last Harry Potter book. I had books that I wanted to read but, I wanted another Series that I could be excited about. Around that time I was really into Snow White ( Not the disney version more along the lines of Snow White a Tale of Terror (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz1qRGxgCws)
I was looking through barnes and nobles, and yes you guessed it I picked up Twilight. It was 2005 and the hype was pretty low key at the time, a few websites but nothing to crazy. I read the next to books and then the flood gates opened. The fourth book was being released, a movie was coming and I was caught up in the hype of it all. But I kept seeing this book : Wicked Lovely, I would read the back of the cover and then just set it back on the shelves.
I became an Anti Twilighter after the release of BD and the movie, and joined a site for people who didn't like twilight as well. I came across a post about the books Wicked Lovely and heard what an author had said about the series (it wasn't good). So what did I do?
I bought Wicked Lovely.
The next day I ran out to buy Ink Exchange and then had to wait 6 agonizing months for Fragile Eternity to come out.
It was only after I had read all three books that I found out about the Rath, I know alittle late, but I joined none the less. And I am better for it. I have meet some of the coolest people on their, like Heather, Aine, Alice, Cam, Tiger, Teagan, Em, and so many more.
And I have never meet an Author kinder than Melissa Marr. She's like a ninja coming in and helping us with our questions about the books and Teasing us with hints for upcoming Releases. Small snippets of her work and even deleted scenes.
I was lucky enough to recieve an Arc of Radiant Shadows, and all I have to say for now: Is WOW be ready for a Wild Ride.

Gaurdian of the Dead by Karen Healey was a very good read, and one of the only books in a long time that I needed to finish. Though I did have some issues with some points in the plot, be warned I might have some minor spoilers in this review.
Now for the Good: I loved the character of Ellie, she was smart, shy but not to the point of annoyance, in the begining she compalined a bit but that seemed to die out as the book went on. Her best friend, kevin, is hysterical and very crush worth even if he is Asexual. I loved the first half of the book more so than the Second, as the character of Reka really facinated me. The reader doesn't know whether to see her as a victim or as a villian.
The book took many old greek myths such as the Greek Myth of Orpheus: http://http://www.loggia.com/myth/eurydice.html and used the New Zealand folk Lore on Faeries Called: Maori. I loved how the author used these tails to twist into her story and create a beautiful and believeable story, filled with Faerie and Witches (an intersting combination)
Because I had a few issues with the ending I give this an A
