Teaser Tuesday (Last Sacrifice) and Review (Wildthorn)

Teaser Tuesday: Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

"This," said Adrian, "is going to be delightful" - page 228

Review: Wildthorn by Jane Eagland
Goodreads:
Seventeen-year-old Louisa Cosgrove longs to break free from her respectable life as a Victorian doctor's daughter. But her dreams become a nightmare when Louisa is sent to Wildthorn Hall: labeled a lunatic, deprived of her liberty and even her real name. As she unravels the betrayals that led to her incarceration, she realizes there are many kinds of prison. She must be honest with herself - and others - in order to be set free. And love may be the key

- I got this book as a gift from and friend and it was one of the first books I have been able to finish in a while. This is a book that every woman needs to read. We seem to take for granted the freedom us women have in today's world. Especially in America. We can become doctors, lawyers, jobs that were previously "male" jobs. We don't have to fear being locked away in an asylum and called crazy because we read books. Louisa was a strong character that I came to love and respect. She was able to stay strong and hold on in even the most hellish of situations. The bathroom scene made me sick. One other thing I liked was that we Louisa's sexuality is shown but its not made into a big deal, its just shown as who she is and that she isn't crazy because she feels this way about Eliza. This book might have gone into my top three favorite books, Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr being number one.

"I owe him," said Nick fiercely.
"You don't owe him, mate. He had it coming..."
"Not from me, he didn't. I owe him. OK?"
Davey lifted up his hands.
"I'd do the same for you mate, anytime."
Davey nodded. He knew it was true. Nick simply never let go

Teaser Tuesday: The Awakening and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Today's Teaser Tuesday is Lord of the Rings and The Awakening.

Book one: The Awakeining by Kelley Armstrong:

They played God and they Failed, and I think what they were really scared of wasn't that we'd hurt people but that other supernaturals would find out what the'd done. So they killed their failures, leaving only the successes

Book two: Fellowship of the Ring
Have you often been to Rivendell?" said Frodo.
I have," said Strider. "I dwelt there once, and still return when I may. There my heart is; but it is not my fate to sit in peace, even in the fair house of Elrond"

Where's Simon?" Clary Interupted.
Isabelle wobbled. "He's a rat," she said darkly.
Did he do something to you?" Alec was full of brotherly concern. " Did he touch you? If he tried anything-
"No, Alec," Isabelle said irritably. "Not like that. He's a rat"
